Welcome to...
Jan Fredmans genealogy research
One of my great interests, since I've retired as a teacher for 37 years at Strömbackaskolan in Piteå, is genealogy research since 5 years. After having lifted a lot of "stones", I now feel ready to present some of my research. My actual family genealogical tables cover more than 116.200 persons [2010-04-02].
Primarly I research on all parishes of Norr- and Västerbotten, but also in Västernorrland, Västmanland, Dalarna, Stockholm, Sörmland and Värmland. Of course I've followed the Stuart/Stewart-branch back to Scotland, Normandie-France and futher to the Kings of Viking from the Oslo fjord in Norway.
Most important now is to find parents and ancestors to my pat. gf gm gf of Daniel Mathson(?), Wasilic(?), Danielsson(?) Fredman (Freman, Fridman, Friedman) b.1786 in the Russian Poland. Daniel Fredman was 22 years of old when he came with the Russian army, which invaded Finland and the north of Sweden (at the present moment Norr- and Västerbotten) the year 1808 - the last war in Sweden. Daniel deserted of unknown reasons and raised a family in the parish of Skellefteå, Västerbotten, Sweden. I present all close relatives genealogical branches with html-links, extracted from my databaseprogram "MinSläkt".
Leisborn Media in Skellefteå has been researching for two years to be able to make a film about "Russian deserters 1809" in Westerbotten. The film is now ready [2009-02-12] in a version which is 54:30 min. long. Martin Leisborn emailed me last spring 2008 and he convinced me to participate in the film, as I'm a living decesendant of a deserter from the Russian Poland. You may also listen to a captivating interview about the film on SR Västerbotten with Martin Leisborn here!
